Live. Learn. Participate.

Strong moral values and good character in youth through guidance is the philosophy behind I.P.P.S Mentoring Programs.

About the Program

IPPS Mentoring Programs Inc. provides mentoring programs for organizations that identify a need for educational and career guidance for the youth in their communities.

Mentoring helps in the fight against such problems as truancy, substance abuse, undesirable and self-destructive behaviors, low grades and test scores, dropping out, sex, juvenile crime, and low overall self-esteem and poor attitude. Involved Parents Productive Students is a structured mentoring program that provides academic and career guidance for at-risk youth and their parents.

The IPPS Mentoring Program uses the TALKS Mentoring Curriculum based on the books Talks My Father Never Had With Me: Helping the Young Males Make it to Adulthood, by Dr. Harold Davis, and Talks My Mother Never had with Me: by Dr. Ollie Watts Davis.

IPPS programs place special emphasis on creating activities for disadvantaged youth after school, over the summer months, and during times when the public school system is dormant. The major training channels are goal setting, behavior improvement, entrepreneurship, computer literacy, anger management, and building self-esteem.

A program can be set up for you in six to eight weeks. IPPS mentoring programs have their own curricula and structured activities. We provide you with the support and tools you need to launch a successful mentoring program for your organization, including suggestions on how to recruit mentors in your location. IPPS is registered with the Maryland Mentoring Partnership. Our program activities adhere to the Elements of Effective Practice.

IPPS is different from other mentoring programs in that it addresses parents' needs for structured outside support. IPPS Mentoring Programs strengthen families by teaching the skills and providing the tools that benefit both at-risk youth and their parents and guardians.
